Big Bugfix-Update out now!

Well, here it is: Valve released a huge update which comes with 60 new items, 2 new maps and loads of bugfixes.

Let's begin with the most important facts: The items are so called Goldstar-Items from the  Steam Workshop. These are hats and Misc-Items which are rather flawless. Consequently, Valve did not have to change anything and imported them directly, given that they received a certain number of Likes from the community.

Big July 2013 Update

Plus, the Summer Claim Checks received its fuction today. If you redeem it, you will get a Summer Cooler. That is, more or less, this year's Summer Crate, ranging from number 62 to 69. Moreover, it is available in 8 different colours. Every crate contains partly of the new Goldstar-Items. Of course, you need a Summer Cooler Key in the same colour as the crate to open it.

There are new items for both of the new maps, cp_process and cp_standin, too: Stamps and Strange Filters can be purchased in the Mann Co. Shop.

Now, let's switch to the changes. Unfortunately, we cannot explain everything, therefore we put together a brief overview of the most important fixes:

The (most important) Bug-Fixes and Map-Changes:

  • If you kill a robot as a Sniper in Mann vs. Machine via headshot, it will drop "red" money. Instead of vanishing, it will be picked up automatically.
  • The treble in the Unusual mine menu is actually working.
  • The Backpack features a new search function:

  • The selection of the crafting ingredients contains a filter that can be used to disallow special quality items in the overview:

Hide special items

  • If red Spies pick up a Medikit, there will be no more blue healing particles.
  • The Ubercharge-Bug is fixed finally(get killed with full charge -> permanent charge noise and effects on the Medigun).
  • "Invisible character in the class selection"-Bug has been fixed.
  • On Dustbowl, Frontier, Upward, Goldrush, Gorge and Badwater, building in the spawn room has been removed.
  • On Badwater: No more building on the small roof-corner opposite CP 2 as well as on the small edge above the first BLU-spawn.
  • Teleporter won't crash on Barnblitz, if they are built on the snow level at the fence next to the first CP.
  • Fixing of several Mapleaks that removed instances where players fell off the map and went into the void.

 

The (most important) Item-Changes:

  • All set bonuses have been reworked or,  in the case of the Medieval Medic and Hibernating Bear, removed completely.
  • Saharan Spy Set: Unmasking sound is normal again and the time it takes to become invisible changed to the standard. Instead, there are glittering particle effects while taunting.
  • Croc-o-Style Kit: No more safety of headshots, so there are no more beneficial effects of the set. As compensation, you enemies will leave tombstones.
  • Expert's Ordnance, Special Delivery, Tank Buster, Gas Jockey's Gear: Removed beneficial set bonuses. Again tombstones.
  • Winger allows for 25% higher jumps.
  • All Soldier-Buffs follow the following principle: Damage dealt is converted to fill the Charge-O-Meter.
  • You will get mini crits if you equip the Escape Plan.
  • The Powerjack grants a speed bonus of 15%.
  • Chargin' Targe allows for (imbalanced ;)) immunity of the Afterburn effects.
  • Wrangler Slightly reduced accuracy of manually-controlled sentry at long range. Plus the protective shield on the sentry vanishes one second after the Engineer's death.
  • Crusaders Crossbow shoots syringes instead of arrows.
  • Quick-Fix can overheal 50%. Plus, Über now affects the medic when there's no heal target
  • Dead Ringer: When under the effect of Feign Death, damage taken decreases the duration of the effect

  • By default, items with non-standard qualities (ie., strange, unusual) will not be selectable as craft ingredient. The ingredient selection UI has a checkbox to disable this feature and allow selection.
  • Unusuals and Stranges no longer stack in loadout equip pages
  • Fixed a bug that would sometimes cause incorrect Steam Community Market prices to be shown on item tooltips when using non-USD currencies
  • Fixed a bug that would cause the popular items page in the store to not always update correctly
  • Fixed a bug where disguised red spies spawned a blue heal particle when touching healthkits
  • Fixed a bug where certain projectiles and Engineer building gibs could cause doors to become stuck
  • Fixed a bug where crouch animations would not properly play while in humiliation state
  • Fixed a bug where full ÜberCharge effects would always show on the client if a player was killed with full ÜberCharge
  • Fixed a bug that allowed custom item names/descriptions containing HTML to sometimes change the appearance of items in Steam Community
  • Fixed level 3 dispensers missing geometry
  • Fixed level 2 dispensers appearing identical to level 1 dispensers at certain LODs
  • Fixed the Marked-For-Death effect showing over the head of disguised or stealthed players
  • Fixed suicide deathnotices showing the dead player's last deployed weapon instead of the skull and crossbones
  • Fixed characters in the loadout page sometimes appearing as if they were cloaked
  • Weapon attributes will now show in the same order in-game and in Steam Community

    • Added Resupply Cabinet and respawn area
    • Fixed BLU spawns all being in the same place
  • Added a new advanced option which toggles damage numbers overwriting critical hit particles.
  • Added new icons above the HUD's health meter for status effects such as mini-crit buff.
  • Crafting interface no longer preserves layout as organized in backpack and does not always allow selection of two of the same item.
